Job Duties:

While there may not be an immediate need for a lecturer in every area, UW-Stevens Point (UWSP) accepts applications regardless, in order to create a pool for when there may be a need.

Upon successful submission of your application, you will be considered for future part-time associate lecturer/lecturer/senior lecturer opportunities, and your application will be on file as a potential candidate who could possibly fill a position if or when the need arises.

An associate lecturer/lecturer/senior lecturer is hired on a per-course basis each semester, and teaching one semester does not guarantee being assigned the following semester. The teaching hours for an associate lecturer/lecturer/senior lecturer will vary with a teaching load ranging between 1-12 credits per semester.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
  • Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
  • Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations

Compensation & Benefits:

The Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer is a part-time, salaried, exempt, academic year (9-month), instructional academic staff position.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree with relevant experience. Areas of expertise include, but are not limited to:
    Forestry, Soil & Waste Resources, Wildlife Ecology, Fisheries & Water Resources, and Environmental Education and Interpretation.
  • Formal or informal teaching experience, including the delivery of outreach, extension, or similar community-oriented programming.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Possession of a terminal degree in a natural resources discipline, OR;
  • Professional experience equivalent to 5 years in one, or a combination, of the following:
