Department Details: 7 on 7 off night shift
Responsibilities- Responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing.
- Follows standard operating procedures and ensures laboratory safety, quality and regulatory requirements are met.
- Collect laboratory specimens, as needed.
- Process lab specimens and perform clinical laboratory testing, including manual and automated methods, in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate skill in use of equipment relevant to position.
- Demonstrate critical and independent judgment in decision-making and problem-solving.
- Demonstrate personal commitment to the principles, values, and ethics of the organization to promote a positive work environment.
- Seek personal learning opportunities.
- Recognize safety hazards and comply with all safety practices and protocols.
- Assist in training new staff.
- Serve as a laboratory resource.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- May be required to travel to other locations.
Medical Laboratory Technician
- Associates degree in Laboratory Science required.
- Possess a national certification for Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) through an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency, for example American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP); or be registry eligible. Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete the Board of Registry examination within 12 months of employment.
- If working in North Dakota (ND), must be licensed or have a provisional license, by the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice.
- Maintain continuing education credits equivalent to the state requirements as needed for license and certifications.
- May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Medical Laboratory Scientist
- Bachelors degree in laboratory or biological sciences required.
- Possess a national certification for Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) through an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency, for example American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or be registry eligible. Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) also acceptable. Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete the Board of Registry examination within 12 months of employment.
- If working in North Dakota (ND), must be licensed by the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice.
- Maintain continuing education credits equivalent to the state requirements as needed for license and certifications.
- May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
