Central Wisconsin Wage: $50,000–$54,000/year

Make a Difference Through People, Purpose & Organization Our client is seeking a Director of Administration & Human Resources to provide leadership and oversight of the organization's HR functions, administrative systems, and organizational development initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys wearing multiple hats and would like to combine human resources expertise with grant administration and nonprofit operations.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day HR needs.
- Oversee onboarding, personnel records, policies, employee relations, and HR compliance.
- Maintain the HRIS and ensure employee information and reporting are accurate and up to date.
- Assist managers with performance management, corrective action, and policy interpretation.
- Support payroll and employee benefits administration.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and organizational policies.
- Manage recruitment activities, including job postings, interview coordination, hiring, and onboarding.
- Develop strategies to support employee retention and engagement.
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning and succession planning.
- Support employee recognition, wellness, training, and leadership development initiatives.
- Help foster a positive, collaborative organizational culture.
- Prepare and manage grant reimbursement claims and related reporting.
- Track employee/staff allocations across various funding sources.
- Assist with grant-related workforce reporting and budgeting.
- Support audits, compliance reporting, and documentation requirements.
- Assist with organizational policies, records, and administrative systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and overall operational efficiency.
- Participate as a member of the leadership team and contribute to organizational planning and decision-making.
- Provide guidance and coaching to managers on employee development and leadership matters.
- Help develop short- and long-term strategies that strengthen the organization and its employees.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in HR, administration, nonprofit operations, or organizational development.
- Experience with HR systems, employee records, compliance, and personnel administration.
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with employees, leadership, Board members, community partners, and outside agencies.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with an HRIS such as Paycom or program management software is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
