Drop Off Attendant

Employee serves as attendant for the city recycling and yard waste drop-off point.

Current hours for the position are:

• Tuesday and Thursday 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM
• Saturday (Apr – June) 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Saturday (Oct – Dec) 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Saturday (Rest of the Year) 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

• Attendant for city recycling and yard waste drop-off point.
• Verify city residency for drop-off point users as required.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to work day hours.
• Must be able to stand and walk continuously 6-8 hours per day, 3 days per week.
• Must be able to bend, squat and twist to lift 51-100 pounds occasionally and 20-50 pounds continuously.
• Must have no limitations that impair doing the responsibilities of the position with either left or right hands.
• Must have no impairments that result from continuous exposure to odors from solid waste or yard waste.
• Must be able to work in all outdoor environmental conditions from extreme heat, rain, snow, humidity, to extreme cold.
• Must have no limitations on seat belt use.

• Knowledge of department operating procedures, city recycling and solid waste rules, policies and ordinances.
• Must have good public relation skills, the ability to make judgement decisions and work unsupervised.
• Ability to write legibility for data collection and completion of reports.
• Knowledge on the operation of refuse trucks. Knowledge of proper safety procedures.
