2026 Habitat Organizational Development Vista--Stevens Point
The goal of the Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin Vista Program is to build a better Wisconsin by assisting local organizations to increase the capacity and sustainability of programs focused on alleviating poverty. With passion, commitment, and hard work, our Ameri Corps Vista members help organizations in bringing individuals and communities out of poverty. For 50 years, Habitat for Humanity has been a global movement of people working together to build more prosperous, vibrant communities and expanding access to safe and affordable homes.
Habitat for Humanity of Central Wisconsin serves Portage County, including Stevens Point, Plover, and Whiting. An all-volunteer organization, they have partnered with nearly 30 families to build safe, affordable homes.
Member Duties:
You'll help Habitat for Humanity of Central Wisconsin to sustainably increase their capacity to build and repair homes by turning their strategic plan into action: recruiting volunteers, conducting community outreach, and raising funds to support the organization's growth. Objectives include:
1) Develop a volunteer recruitment and management plan in order to meet the organization's needs.
2) Develop a fundraising plan to increase the organization's capacity to build and repair more homes.
3) Develop an outreach and communications plan to boost awareness and support for Habitat for Humanity in Portage County. Benefits include an extra $200/month housing stipend, hybrid schedule, and 30-hour work week. Interviews are done on a rolling basis. Program Benefits:
