Registered Nurse – Critical Care / Step‑Down Unit – The Staff Pad | Wausau, WI | Multiple Shifts Available
The Staff Pad is partnering with a leading healthcare system to hire Registered Nurses for a high‑acuity Critical Care / Step‑Down Unit. This unit cares for a complex patient population including cardiothoracic, post‑surgical, and telemetry patients—offering exposure to ICU‑level skills in a structured, team‑driven environment.
What You’ll Do- Provide care for patients requiring higher acuity monitoring (drips, chest tubes, central lines)
- Collaborate with a strong interdisciplinary team in a fast‑paced setting
- Manage frequent admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Deliver patient‑centered care with a focus on safety and outcomes
- RN license (WI or compact eligible)
- BLS required, ACLS preferred
- Open to new grads and experienced nurses
- Comfortable in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment
- Exposure to advanced cardiac and critical care pathways
- Strong leadership presence and structured workflows
- Expansion into a new cardiac‑focused tower
- Opportunities for growth into Charge RN and specialty roles
