Do you enjoy being outdoors and are knowledgeable about gun and shooting range safety? Portage County Parks has a part-time, seasonal Rangemaster opening! Hours will range between 8-40 hrs / wk (see range schedule below.)

This position will start approximately at the end of June and go through mid November, 2026.

Starting pay $18.03 / hr.

What will you be doing?

Registration of shooters at the Dewey shooting range
Collection of user fees
Provide assistance to shooters
Ensures range areas are safe and range users are following proper safety procedures
General maintenance of the area

What kind of knowledge and skills do you need to have?

Ability to deal effectively with the public
Good communication skills
Knowledge of County park ordinances
Knowledge of guns, ballistics and gun safety

What are the qualifications?

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license
Must be a minimum of 18 years old

Schedule:

May 2nd
- July 26:
Saturday and Sunday, 1 - 5 pm
August 1st
- Oct 15th:
Saturday and Sunday 1-5 pm,Tuesday 2-6 pm,Thursday 2 - 6 pm
October 17th
- October 30th:
Everyday 10 am - 4 pm
October 31st– November 20th:
Everyday 10 am - 6 pm
November 21st
- April 30th: CLOSED
