Building Services Project Manager, Senior

Plan, coordinate, oversee and direct major facility construction projects. Manage construction contracts, negotiates contract fees. Prepare project cost estimates. Create the design and layout for small or minor projects. Write request for proposals and send to potential project vendors and recommend selection of contract vendors. Perform code and contract compliance inspection for projects involving County-wide facilities construction, renovation and remodeling, including structural and non-structural plan review and field inspection of construction and remodeling work.

Develop communication strategies to notify public/employees about construction progress and impacts. Develop design criteria, sketches and schematic drawings, specifications, and details necessary to accomplish the required tasks for special projects.

• Minimum of 5 years of paid work experience delivering facility new build, remodel, or modification projects
• Minimum of 5 years of paid work experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams including architects and engineers through all phases of design
• Minimum of 5 years of paid work experience in interpreting complex architectural and engineering drawings and specifications with an ability to identify design inconsistencies or constructability issues
• Paid work experience working with or for a government agency on facility construction projects
• Minimum of 5 years of paid work experience in managing construction budgets and schedules. Please include the magnitude of budgets directly managed

The Building Services Project Manager, Senior, performs complex professional and administrative project management work to complete new construction, remodeling, and general facility improvements to County buildings.

The position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Planning or a directly related field and five years of full-time work experience in building or construction project management. A directly related internship may be applied towards required work experience, or equivalent. Must have and maintain a valid class D driver's license.

A certification as a State Building Official and commercial or construction project management work experience is highly desirable.
