Special Education Paraprofessional will provide instructional and behavioral support for students with significant behavioral needs. Emphasis on quality relationships with students and colleagues. This position involves working with special education students who need encouragement and instruction to help manage their emotions. Must receive a sense of fulfillment when shaping children who are learning skills such as self-control and emotional regulation. Emphasis on quality relationships with students and colleagues is required as is dependable attendance.
Willingness to calmly work in a setting that can be highly emotional. Will also provide lunch and recess supervision.
Requirements:
In order to work as a Special Education Paraprofessional, you must meet the state requirement of being Highly Qualified prior to your start date. To be considered Highly Qualified, you must have one of the following; a Bachelor's Degree or an Associates Degree, or 60+ hours of post-secondary education, or a passing score on the Para Pro Exam. Please be prepared to submit documentation in support of your qualifications.
(Acceptable documentation includes transcripts from the college or a copy of the Para Pro Exam report.) Hours per day: 3.5 hours per day, Monday
- Friday (student contact days).
