Pay within our ranges may also be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities as well as internal equity. Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation based on role (e.g., shift differential, bonus, sales incentive, productivity pay, etc.).

Job Description

As a provider assistant at Health Partners Clinic Stillwater, you are responsible for a variety of patient care duties and other related duties in the clinical setting that include documentation of medical information, administration of medications/vaccinations and treatments, as well as obtaining medical histories, vital signs, etc.

The provider assistant assists the healthcare providers in the timely delivery of services per physician/RN direction and according to Clinic policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Interview patients and document basic medical history
  • Take vital signs and document findings in the patient record
  • Review annual wellness questionnaire with appropriate patients
  • Administer immunizations
  • Monitor messages and relay clinician responses via phone calls
  • Enter orders for laboratory services
Required Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with or without certification (AAMA or AMT) OR
  • Current LPN (MN and WI license required) OR
  • Graduate of an accredited EMT program plus current EMT license (national and Minnesota)

PLUS current CPR certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Preferred Qualifications
  • One year medial assistant or LPN experience in a clinic.
  • Experience with Epic electronic medical record software.

All candidates should have excellent verbal and written skills; excellent customer services skills; tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions with patients, families, and care team members;
An ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in all interactions;
Understanding of patient education needs, able to effectively share information with patient, family members and care team members as needed;
Ability to learn, retain information regarding patient care procedures;
Ability to plan, prioritize and complete delegated tasks;
Ability to remain calm in stressful situation;
Experience with Epic preferred.
