Laboratory Assistant And Phlebotomist

Lakeview Hospital is hiring for a Laboratory Assistant and Phlebotomist. Position is responsible for performing phlebotomies and receiving/processing specimens to ensure high quality in the preanalytical phase of laboratory testing.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent. Some positions require a valid driver's license and meeting all criteria required under Lakeview's Automobile Liability Guidelines.

Preferred qualifications include completion of a health care program, phlebotomy certification, medical terminology knowledge, previous phlebotomy experience, and typing or keyboarding skills.

Essential duties include consistently performing phlebotomy using department protocols and procedures to assure quality specimens, championing great customer service, following department procedures and protocols for prioritizing test orders, specimen suitability and specimen handling, performing waived complexity testing with appropriate supervision, and following all hospital and departmental safety protocols and procedures.

Organizational expectations include complying with safety instructions, maintaining regular and timely attendance, protecting confidentiality, demonstrating participation in and support of the organization's Corporate Integrity Program, and timely completion of all mandatory education and organizational requirements.
