The Fire Chief provides strategic and operational leadership for a full‑service Fire Department staffed by dedicated full‑time and paid‑on‑call professionals.
This role is responsible for guiding the future of fire and life safety services in Stillwater and surrounding communities, balancing daily operational readiness with long‑term vision, fiscal stewardship, and organizational development. Key responsibilities include personnel management, budgeting, and strategic planning, while ensuring high‑quality emergency response in fire suppression, advanced‑level non‑transport EMS, emergency preparedness, and disaster response.
The Fire Chief also leads community risk reduction through fire prevention, code enforcement, public education, and life safety initiatives. As a visible leader and trusted partner, the Fire Chief works closely with City leadership, regional agencies, and the community to uphold Stillwater’s commitment to safety, service, and resilience.
