Position Summary

The full-time Development Manager leads the core philanthropic programs of the St. Croix Prep Foundation, with primary emphasis on the annual Prep Fund giving campaign and its associated Teacher Grant program. The role also drives the Foundation’s marketing and donor communications, oversees day-to-day Foundation operations and administrative support to the Board of Directors, and coordinates the Foundation’s participation in the annual Ignite fundraising event and the senior scholarship program.

The Development Manager serves as the primary liaison between the Foundation and St. Croix Preparatory Academy, reporting to the Foundation Board Chair and Board of Directors and working closely with School leadership and staff.

Position Details

Classification: Full-time, exempt (40 hours/week), flexible schedule

Reports to: Foundation Board Chair and Board of Directors

Location: Remote with regular on-site meetings and events in Stillwater

Works closely with: Foundation Board, School leadership and staff, and external accounting services

Salary: $65,000

Benefits: Paid time off. This position does not include employer-sponsored health insurance or retirement benefits.

Responsibilities by Activity Area Prep Fund — Annual Giving & Teacher Grants (35%)
  • Manage the annual Prep Fund giving cycle from planning through close, including communications and donor acknowledgements
  • Track gifts, monitor progress toward goal, and report results to the Board
  • Steadily grow participation among parents, alumni, and the broader community
  • Administer the Prep Fund Teacher Grant program — the direct outcome of Prep Fund giving — each spring and fall, coordinating the application, review, award, and reporting process with the School and Board
  • Connect donors to the impact of their giving by communicating teacher grant outcomes
Marketing & Communications (20%)
  • Plan and carry out regular marketing efforts to promote the Foundation’s programs, campaigns, and events
  • Maintain consistent Foundation branding and messaging across digital, print, social, and email channels
  • Maintain donor-facing communications throughout the year, including appeals, updates, and newsletters
  • Deliver timely, consistent gift acknowledgment and donor recognition at all giving levels
  • Ensure clear, consistent messaging between the School and the Foundation
  • Manage communications and outreach for the Alumni Association, including social media updates and engagement touchpoints
Foundation Management & Operations (15%)
  • Maintain the donor and alumni database and ensure accurate, current records
  • Coordinate with bookkeeping and accounting services, including bill and receipt management, bill pay, invoice processing, reimbursements, bank statements, deposit tracking (donor and purpose, restricted and unrestricted), donor gift tracking, reconciliation of donor-directed gifts, monthly reconciling, and broader recordkeeping and compliance support
  • Foundation Administration:
    Provide day-to-day administrative support for Foundation operations, including correspondence, file management, and logistics
  • Foundation Board of Directors:
    Provide administrative support to the Board, including scheduling, meeting materials, reporting, and follow-up
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Foundation and St. Croix Preparatory Academy.
  • Actively partner with School leadership and administration to align on Foundation initiatives with the School’s strategic priorities and funding needs, ensuring a shared and coordinated philanthropic direction.
  • Maintain regular, structured communication with School staff and faculty, serving as the primary point of contact for Foundation programs and initiatives, ensuring consistent awareness, coordination, and follow-through across shared activities.
  • Coordinate with School communications staff to ensure Foundation messaging integrates seamlessly with school-wide communications, maintaining consistent branding and a unified voice across all channels.
Ignite Event — Foundation Coordination (15%)
  • Serve as the Foundation’s primary liaison to the volunteer team that plans and runs the annual Ignite fundraising event
