Position: Grocery Receiver - Full Time

Overview

River Market Community Co-op is hiring a Full Time Grocery Receiver!

Experience-based pay ranging from: $17.90 - $19.15 per hour

Must have availability to work weekends and evenings. Candidates without availability to work weekends and evenings will not be considered.

Grocery Receivers are an important player in the success of the store. They are responsible for ensuring the products we receive meet our standards and are processed in a timely manner. Union position

Reports to: Center Store Manager

Responsibilities
  • Maintain attractive, fully stocked, rotated, and faced sections, including promotional areas that change regularly
  • Answer customer questions and complaints in a friendly, helpful, prompt manner; refer questions to the appropriate staff
  • Execute daily production list as delegated by supervisor
  • Perform established opening and closing procedures according to timeline determined by department manager
  • Accomplish daily priority stocking needs, including back stock
  • Receive deliveries following established procedures
  • Process deliveries as received and communicated by supervisor
  • Receive and price special orders as directed by manager
  • Assist customers with placing and picking up special orders
  • Continually monitor all products for quality and dating
  • Pull products not meeting department criteria
  • Accurately record damaged products, returns and shrink on appropriate store records
  • Participate in department cleaning side work and inventory days as directed
  • Monitor staff in stocking duties

Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Prior retail experience serving customers in sale or similar department
  • Prior retail receiving experience
  • Computer proficiency including but not limited to: MS Office-Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Able to perform basic arithmetic including counting, addition, and subtraction
  • Able to repetitively lift and carry 25 lbs, and occasionally 50 lbs
  • Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation
  • Able to remain on feet for long periods of time
  • Able to spend time working in refrigerated spaces
  • Availability to work including weekends and evenings

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS: Must be physically able to occasionally grasp, grip, pull, push, twist, and turn as needed.

Constant (67-100%): Walking, standing, talking, hearing, correctable vision including near acuity and depth perception

Frequent (34-66%): Bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds floor to waist, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds floor to waist

Occasional (1-33%): Working in refrigeration, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance floor to waist, lifting and reaching waist to shoulder, lifting and reaching above the shoulder

Approximately 5% of the time: Administrative duties, sitting
