Store Director - Blaine North

Purpose

Effectively manages store operations by developing and implementing strategies to achieve maximum sales and earnings while coaching, training, and developing employees for ongoing high performance.

• Leads, directs, coaches, and assists associates throughout the store in performing their duties.
• Works with the team to follow and enforce company standards for friendly, prompt, and courteous customer service, ensuring that all associates assist customers in locating and retrieving merchandise.
• Manages the overall proficient operation of the store and assists in the corporation’s plans to increase store sales, profits, and service levels.
• Monitors store expenses and ensures expense targets are met.
• Collaborates with the Assistant Store Director and Department Managers to strategize and achieve weekly sales and earnings objectives.
• Drives results to achieve company sales and earnings objectives.
• Engages associates to live the Greet, Offer, and Thank principles to create an exceptional customer focus culture.
• Creates a culture where associates are trusted and empowered to make decisions.
• Builds a cohesive environment of teamwork and collaboration where associates value one another and understand how they can contribute to the overall success of the store.
• Develops associates through teaching, coaching, mentoring, and training toward specific roles and goals to increase organizational talent.
• Influences the store team to accomplish specific goals with consistent communication in person and in written form.
• Plans for current and long‑term goals and prepares contingency plans for unpredictable outcomes.
• Adapts readily to customer needs, changes in schedules, and work priorities.
• Adapts to new technology and is proficient in its operation.
• Learns, understands, and applies company manuals, policies, and practices related to store operations.
• Answers associate and customer needs resourcefully and knowledgeably.
• Builds relationships with customers and maintains customer engagement.
• Understands and utilizes P&L, sales, purchases, labor, and cost reporting to impact results.
• Brings a broader perspective on how the business works outside the industry and applies business knowledge to maximize sales.
• Ensures overall safety and food safety practices are updated and implemented.
• Obtains all licensure required for store operations.

• Experience as an Assistant Store Director.
• College degree preferred.
• Thorough understanding of store operations, company practices, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to work varying shifts and days of the week, including evenings, weekends, early mornings, or late shifts.
• Ability to interpret profit and loss statements and implement emergency procedures in the event of equipment and computer software malfunctions.
• Good judgment is required; direct supervision may not always be immediately available.

• Stand and walk for long periods, reach, lift, stack, and maneuver objects up to approximately 55 lbs, push and pull fully loaded hand trucks and pallet jacks.
• Manual dexterity and good eye‑hand coordination are necessary.
• Cover various positions throughout the store as required.
• May be exposed to temperatures ranging from
  -20 °F to 35 °F while handling products in freezers, coolers, and display cases; temperatures up to 150 °F while handling products in hot cases.
• Most work performed in a temperature‑controlled store environment.
• Use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the normal workday.
• May sit for periods at a desk or computer terminal.
