Deli Clerk - Part Time

Rivers Co-op Markets is hiring a part-time deli clerk!

Experience-based pay ranging from$18.27 - $19.58 per hour

Approximately 16-24 hours/week

Must have availability to work evenings and weekends. Candidates without availability to work evenings and weekends will not be considered.

Learn valuable, transferable job skills in our Deli! Deli Clerks build salads, sandwiches, burritos, and other made-to-order items. Deli Clerks cut and package meats and cheeses, stock shelves, and interact directly with customers, gaining experience in customer service. Union position

Reports to: Deli Manager

• Greet and assist customers with placing and picking up orders.
• Prepare and execute daily production list.
• Assist with sanitizing and cleaning between customers.
• Follow all directions accurately and in accordance with established production guidelines.
• Work in an open, forward-facing kitchen.

• Ability to multi-task, perform repeated bending, standing, and reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds
• Must have weekend and evening availability
• Must be 18 years old to operate the slicer machine
• Performs basic arithmetic including counting, addition, and subtraction
• Preferred experience in food service like deli, catering, restaurant
• Preferred experience serving customers

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS: Must be physically able to occasionally grasp, grip, pull, push, twist, and turn as needed.

Constant (67-100%): Walking, standing, lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds floor to waist, talking, hearing, correctable vision including near acuity and depth perception

Frequent (34-66%): Bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, lifting/reaching waist to shoulder, lifting/reaching above the shoulder

Occasional (1-33%): Working in refrigeration, pushing, pulling, lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds floor to waist, lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance floor to waist

Approximately 5% of the time: Administrative duties & sitting
