In this position you will perform advanced technical work in planning, installing, configuring, and maintaining electronic equipment, software, hardware, and networks for communication, automation, safety, and security at within the Minnesota Correctional Facility at Oak Park Heights (MCF - Oak Park Heights).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

+ Maintain the CCTV system and work with the IT department on daily issues.

+ Maintain security touch screen door control system and other security electronic equipment as required.

+ Maintain electronic equipment/systems.

+ Maintain security on all tools, equipment and information so that the security of the institution is not compromised.

+ Facilitate new construction at the institution so that changes and additions run as smoothly as possible.

** Minimum Qualifications*
* The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position. LICENSURE/

EXPERIENCE:

+ Power Limited Technician license OR ability to obtain this licensure within the probationary period.

NOTE:

If the successful candidate does not currently have a Power Limited Technician license, they will be required to register as an unlicensed individual prior to hire and will perform work in accordance with M.S. 326B.33.

+ Three (3) years of work experience in installing, calibrating, configuring, maintaining and repairing electronics equipment.  Two of the three years of work experience must have been obtained within the last ten years.

NOTE:

Completion of a one year vocational/technical program in electronics technology or a related field may be substituted for six months of work experience.  Completion of a two year vocational/technical program (e.g. Associate in Applied Science degree) in electronics technology or a related field may be substituted for one year of work experience.

Applicants meeting the above qualifications will be further evaluated on the following:

+ Knowledge of standard practices, materials, test equipment, and tools used to construct, install, calibrate, configure, troubleshoot, repair and maintain complex electronics equipment sufficient to assure safe, efficient and reliable equipment operation.
