About This Position
The School of Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) within the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT) is seeking an Administrative Support Specialist. The position serves as the primary point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and external visitors, providing front‑desk reception and general administrative support.
ResponsibilitiesThe Administrative Support Specialist will:
- Process faculty and student travel requests and vouchers.
- Plan, coordinate, and schedule school‑related meetings, events, and functions.
- Assist with the maintenance of IEM calendars and service accounts.
- Support departmental communication efforts by maintaining and updating website content, social media accounts, marketing materials, and the departmental newsletter.
- Maintain departmental records related to current students and alumni.
- High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before the agreed upon start date).
- Administrative Support Specialist I: 1 year of clerical/customer service experience.
- Administrative Support Specialist II: 2 years of clerical/customer service experience.
- Senior Administrative Support Specialist: 3 years of clerical/customer service experience.
Post‑secondary education may substitute for years of required experience. Completion of the Ambassador Program after hire is required.
Skills, Proficiencies, and KnowledgeAbility to work effectively with faculty, staff, visitors, and students, and with all campus support areas. Ability to work independently, use judgment and initiative, and handle confidential information with discretion. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.) and database software. Experience in maintaining office equipment.
Preferred Qualifications- High School/GED.
- 8 years of experience in clerical and customer service.
