The Site Manager leads the construction and startup of conventional generation projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest safety, quality, and performance standards. The role directs project staff, implements project controls, manages cost and schedule, and serves as the primary representative for Black & Veatch with owners, contractors, and partners.

• Update and complete the Construction Execution Plan, reviewing and refining as the project progresses.
• Direct overall construction effort, coordinating erection activities, suppliers, direct‑hire craft labor, subcontractors, startup, and testing.
• Manage construction and startup cost to meet established budgets, reviewing monthly reports and taking corrective action.
• Implement established project controls, safety, quality, and commissioning procedures, ensuring compliance with safety targets and quality metrics.
• Approve field purchases, equipment rentals, subcontractor payments, and manage change‑order processes.
• Coordinate with the project manager on change orders, contract closeout, and resolution of back charges.
• Establish site staffing needs and mentor the site team, maintaining morale and professional development.
• Champion Lean concepts and continuous improvement, supporting change management and engagement of staff.
• Execute project manager responsibilities, leading multi‑discipline project management.
• Lead monthly contractor management meetings, weekly contractor and site coordination meetings.

• 10+ years of experience on similar conventional generation construction projects in a construction‑management role.
• Minimum of 3 years as a Site Manager, with or without a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with simple‑cycle and combined‑cycle plant construction.

• 5+ years of construction‑management experience on similar projects with a bachelor’s degree.
• 8+ years of experience without a bachelor’s degree, including at least 3 years at superintendent level or larger project construction‑management roles.
• Ability to complete required pre‑employment onboarding requirements.

• Lift up to 50 pounds, stand, kneel, bend, and walk long distances in confined spaces.
• Work may involve temperatures above 90°F or below 32°F, exposure to dust, wind, rain, and hazards.
• Work up to 12‑hour shifts, use of hand tools, repetitive motion, and work at heights up to 12 feet.
• Must hold a safety‑sensitive position and comply with company safety policies.
