About this PositionResponsible for greeting clients, admitting/dismissing patients and collecting payment for services. Responsible for reviewing all charges and fee estimates, discussing payment policy with clients and collecting additional deposits when charges exceed original fee estimates. Schedules appointments, answers phones, and communicates necessary messages to faculty/clinicians. Cross-trained for reception duties in both small animal and large animal reception, business office, and medical records.
All other duties as assigned.
- High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
- Vet Client Svc Rep I - High School diploma/GED and one year of veterinary or medical office experience.
- Vet Client Svc Rep II - High School diploma/GED, three years of veterinary or medical office experience, and one year of experience in billing/cash handling.
- Vet Client Svc Rep III - High School diploma/GED, five years of veterinary or medical office experience, two years' experience in billing/cash handling, and completion of at least two on-campus or on line customer service focused training courses.
- Vet Client Svc Rep Sr - High School diploma/GED, eight years of veterinary or medical office experience, four years' experience in billing/cash handling, completion of at least two on-campus or online customer service focused training courses, and certified Veterinary Receptionist (CVR) from the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA).
Post-secondary education may substitute for years of required experience.
- Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as organization skills, ability to handle/reconcile payments received for services and multi-line phone skills. Must have MS Office experience. Background experience with veterinary medicine necessary.

- Eight years of clerical/customer service experience and completion of Ambassador Program and Leadership Development Program.
