Visiting Assistant Professor of PhilosophyThe Department of Philosophy at Oklahoma State University seeks applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor, with a start date of August 2026. Teaching competencies should include logic and critical thinking.
Responsibilities- Typical teaching load is 3 classes per semester for Visiting Assistant Professors.

- The Philosophy Department seeks an individual with teaching competencies in logic and critical thinking.
- Must be able to teach online and in-person versions of logic and critical thinking.
- Develop and teach concurrent courses aimed at high school students taking logic and critical thinking for college credit.

We also have a thriving MA program in Philosophy. The Philosophy Department is a pluralistic department and has research and teaching strengths in Ethics, Cognitive Science, Religion, History of Philosophy, and other areas.

Required Qualifications- Master’s degree in Philosophy or a closely related field conferred before the start of the Fall 2026 semester. (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
- Evidence of successful in-person and online teaching.
- Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively mentor and collaborate with students and colleagues.
- PhD in Philosophy or a closely related field.
