Position Overview

Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology – 9‑month, non‑tenure‑track appointment at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater campus.

Start date:

August 2026. This position emphasizes high‑quality undergraduate instruction.

The candidate will teach four courses per semester, with assignments based on department needs and areas of expertise. Desired courses include Psychology of Adjustment, Human Sexuality, Principles of Learning, Psychology of Mass Media, Psychopathology, Issues in Clinical Psychology, Research Methods, and Statistics. Responsibilities also comprise maintaining regular office hours, participating in routine departmental activities related to teaching, and collaborating with faculty and staff to support student success.

• PhD in Psychology or a closely related field by the start date (ABD considered; degree must be conferred on or before the agreed upon start date)
• Evidence of successful teaching at the college or university level
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor and collaborate with students and colleagues

• Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses effectively

The Department at Oklahoma State University offers undergraduate programs in Psychology and graduate programs in Clinical and Experimental Psychology.
