The Oklahoma State University Department of Computer Science invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Computer Science. We seek candidates with teaching interests in game development, game design, and GPU pipeline programming, supported by a strong record of teaching and curriculum development across core Computer Science domains. The position begins August 15, 2026.
Responsibilities- Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in game development, game design, GPU pipeline programming, and core CS areas.
- Developing new courses and contributing to curriculum growth in both online and in‑person formats.
- Supporting OSU’s land‑grant mission through excellence in teaching and community outreach.
- Contributing to the department’s online certificate and degree programs.
- Developing an introductory online high school concurrent computer science course as part of the Cowboy Concurrent Academy.
- Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related discipline (degree must be conferred on or before the agreed upon start date).
- Demonstrated ability to develop new courses and deliver instruction in both online and in‑person formats.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor students and collaborate with colleagues.
- Research experience in game development, game design, or related areas.
- Record of successful college or university‑level teaching and student mentorship.
