About This Position

Oklahoma State University’s College of Arts and Sciences seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor of Political Science to teach sections of POLS 1113:
American Government as a member of our Cowboy Concurrent Academy faculty. Cowboy Concurrent Academy faculty teach concurrent courses to high‑school students statewide, also providing concurrent credit for OSU students. Academy faculty may also teach online and/or in‑person courses to OSU students at Stillwater, Tulsa, or distance campuses.

Responsibilities
  • Tutor at least three courses per semester.
  • Participate actively in professional development and service to support the vibrancy of CCO and EU coursework.
  • Be prepared to teach online‑asynchronous and in‑person courses and instruct POLS 1113 to OSU students.
  • Attend professional development activities during summer months.
  • Coordinate closely with Academic Programs in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Required Qualifications For a Visiting Instructor
  • Earned master’s degree in the relevant discipline.
  • Evidence of successful in‑person and online teaching.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively mentor and collaborate with students and colleagues.
Required Qualifications For a Visiting Assistant Professor
  • Ph.D. in the relevant discipline.
  • Evidence of successful in‑person and online teaching.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively mentor and collaborate with students and colleagues.
