About This Position
The Program Specialist is a full-time professional staff member in the Center for Global Learning responsible for supporting the successful implementation of faculty-led study abroad programs and leading marketing and outreach initiatives for study abroad across OSU. This position will spend approximately 60% of its time on direct support for faculty-led programs, 30% on marketing, promotion, and communications, and 10% on other duties as assigned.
The position ensures smooth program operations, provides administrative and logistical support to faculty leaders, students, campus colleagues involved in short-term study abroad programing, and drives program growth through innovative marketing strategies and outreach campaigns.
- High School/GED. Four years of work experience. Post-secondary education may be substituted for experience. (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, students, and external providers.
- Experience supporting education abroad programs or student services in higher education.
- Proficiency with digital marketing tools (social media platforms, email campaigns, content management, design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite).
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Computer proficiency:
Terra Dotta (or similar study abroad management system), Banner, Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Suite.
- Master's degree and three or more years of related experience in international education or marketing/communications.
- Prior work experience in a study abroad office, higher education setting, or program provider organization.
- Ability to interact with global program representatives, faculty, and students in a highly professional manner with an understanding of protocol and confidentiality.
- Work, study, or travel experience abroad.
