The Commissioning Manager will lead quality assurance, commissioning, testing, and turnover activities for a hyperscale data center project. This individual will oversee commissioning activities from design review through final handover, ensuring all electrical, mechanical, cooling, controls, and life-safety systems are installed, tested, and operating according to design requirements and applicable codes.
Responsibilities- Lead commissioning and quality processes for electrical and mechanical systems.
- Manage commissioning activities through Levels 1-5, including startup, functional testing, integrated systems testing, and final turnover.
- Coordinate with contractors, OEMs, engineers, and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Review and validate commissioning plans, test procedures, and turnover documentation.
- Oversee testing of electrical distribution systems, generators, UPS, switch gear, HVAC equipment, chillers, pumps, fans, and control systems.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, NFPA standards, fire/life safety requirements, and applicable building codes.
- Support commissioning of Central Utility Buildings (CUBs) and chilled water systems utilizing closed-loop cooling processes.
- Track and resolve deficiencies, punch list items, and commissioning issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of commissioning, startup, quality, or mission-critical construction experience.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of HVAC, chilled water, cooling systems, and critical power infrastructure.
- Familiarity with NFPA codes, including NFPA 13 and fire/life safety requirements.
- Ability to read construction drawings, one-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
