About This PositionDedicated to improving the quality of life for the people of Oklahoma through science-based information and education. The Division comprises the Ferguson College of Agriculture and two state agencies: the Oklahoma Agricultural Experiment Station and the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service.
Position DetailsThe successful candidate will join the finance team to provide financial services, complete financial-related processes, and perform tasks for multiple units/departments as assigned. The individual will support the Finance Team Manager and prepare and review financial reports, reconciliations, revenue analyses, expense analyses, encumbrance analyses, and assist with budget development and control with an emphasis on grant-related finances. Accounting functions include accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, purchasing, and budgeting.
The candidate will work with unit/department heads, faculty, staff, and students on departmental and grant accounts, and collaborate with other finance team staff and Finance and Business Operations staff within the Division. Title placement (Accountant I or II) will be decided at hire based on education and experience.
- Bachelor's in Accounting or related (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
- No experience required
- Knowledge of GAAP, principles, accounting standards, fund accounting principles, and federal and state regulations and the ability to apply knowledge appropriately in job responsibilities
- Practical application of generally accepted accounting methods and practices

- Demonstrably proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail, and MS Teams
- Bachelor's in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related area
- Five years’ job-related experience, with prior experience in the OSU Financial system (Banner) preferred; experience with Quick Books is preferred
