Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
As a Battery Technician, you’ll be responsible for assembling, installing, inspecting, and maintaining batteries in various devices, from cars and other heavy machinery to power plants.
Responsibilities- Remove and disassemble cells and inspect parts to detect defects.
- Replace defective parts, reassemble battery, and fuse lead parts with a gas torch.
- Fill cells with acid solution and determine the specific gravity of the solution.
- Add acid or water to obtain the specified concentration.
- Attach charger leads to battery posts or connectors and start the charger.
- Read meters and adjust charge parameters to control time and flow of current through the battery.
- Perform discharge tests, evaluate results, and make necessary repairs.
- Wash, clean, and neutralize customers’ batteries at customer location or in the service center.
- Repair battery charging equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of using, troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing electrical and battery testing equipment.
- Knowledge of battery safety best practices and industry standards related to the testing, storage and disposal of lithium‑ion and lithium primary cells and batteries.
- Physical stamina and mobility, including ability to reach, kneel and bend.
- Ability to lift, push and pull a required load (usually about 30lbs).

This position is expected to travel approximately 25% – 50%. A passport is not required, but recommended.
