The Quality Control (QC) Inspector supports the Quality Assurance Program by executing independent inspections, spot checks, and administrative quality control activities across all operational areas. This role serves as a force multiplier to QC Auditors by ensuring continuous monitoring, validation of work performance, and compliance with contract requirements outlined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Performance Requirements Summary (PRS).

The QC Inspector operates as an impartial evaluator while reinforcing a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and on-the-spot coaching where appropriate.

Responsibilities Inspection & Compliance Monitoring
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled spot inspections across all functional areas (e.g., Maintenance, Supply, Transportation).

  • Perform QC inspections aligned with PRS standards, ensuring adherence to defined performance thresholds and AQL requirements.

  • Validate operational compliance with SOPs, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Verify Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) presence and applicability during inspections.

Support to QC Auditors
  • Assist QC Auditors with data collection, sampling, and inspection preparation.

  • Execute follow-up inspections for previously identified nonconformances (CAPA validation).

  • Provide real-time field observations to support audit accuracy and completeness.

  • Reinforce “teachable moments” by supporting on‑the‑spot coaching efforts in coordination with supervisors.

Documentation & Administrative Support
  • Accurately document inspection results in QC audit tools, checklists, and tracking systems.

  • Record:

  • Sample sizes (n)

  • Defects (d)

  • Compliance status (C/NC)

  • Objective evidence and supporting documentation

  • Assist with maintaining quality records in accordance with ARIMS (AR 25‑400‑2) and ISO 9001 record retention requirements.

  • Support preparation of quality reports, dashboards, and performance summaries.

  • Acts as the Primary Publications Coordinator by assignment.

Performance & KPI Support
  • Contribute to tracking and reporting of:

  • PRS compliance metrics

  • AQL performance trends

  • CAP status and closure timelines

  • ICE (Interactive Customer Evaluation) response compliance (≤ 2‑day requirement)

  • Identify and document positive findings to support recognition programs and trend analysis.

  • Flag and document government‑caused delays impacting performance metrics.

Safety & Risk Compliance
  • Conduct all inspections in accordance with PPE requirements and safety protocols.

  • Affirm compliance with safety standards through inspection attestation requirements.

  • Identify and report potential hazards, risks, or safety violations.

Continuous Improvement Support
  • Identify recurring deficiencies and support root cause analysis efforts.

  • Provide actionable feedback to supervisors and QA leadership.

  • Support implementation and monitoring of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).

Qualifications
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in quality, Logistics, Business, or related field (preferred, not required).

  • 1–3 years of experience in:

  • Quality Control / Quality Assurance.

  • Logistics, maintenance, or operational environments.

  • Government contracting (preferred).

Knowledge & Skills
  • Working knowledge of:

  • PWS / PRS‑based performance environments

  • Inspection methodologies and AQL sampling concepts (e.g., ISO 2859‑1 familiarity preferred)

  • ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems (QMS) principles (preferred, not required)

  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy

  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in:

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Data tracking systems (e.g., SharePoint, Power BI – preferred)
