New Solutions specializes in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with job opportunities that support federal agencies. This role provides field and laboratory support for the Peanut and Small Grains Research Unit within the USDA Agricultural Research Service under the Experienced Worker Program.

• Assist scientists with sampling, processing, analysis, recording, and verification of biological samples in field and lab.
• Coordinate timelines and data collection to ensure research activities are completed as scheduled.
• Train other technicians on standard research procedures.
• Maintain equipment, reagents, and supplies; ensure research materials are ready for experiments.
• Follow all laboratory, field, and animal care safety protocols.

• Minimum 20 years of lab or field experience, or equivalent BA/BS degree.
• Proficiency with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.

• Observe laboratory and field safety protocols; follow animal care guidelines.
• Use and maintain required protective equipment such as lab coat, safety glasses, and gloves.
• Physical tasks may include stooping, bending, reaching, walking, and occasional respirator use.
