The Team Captain Apparel is a full-time, on-site role based in the Lincoln, Nebraska Metropolitan Area. This role leads the apparel team on the sales floor, ensuring merchandise is well-presented, sized, and organized to create an excellent shopping experience. Daily responsibilities include coaching and supporting teammates, prioritizing tasks, and coordinating workflow to meet sales, service, and operational goals. The Team Captain Apparel engages directly with athletes (customers), delivers knowledgeable product recommendations, and promotes brand standards and visual merchandising guidelines.
The role also supports store management with key operational activities such as inventory processes, execution of promotional events, and maintaining a safe, clean, and inclusive environment.
- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills with a focus on delivering an outstanding Customer Experience.
- Experience in Store Management and Operations Management, including coordinating daily activities and supporting team performance.
- Ability to lead, coach, and motivate team members while promoting a collaborative, inclusive work environment.
- Knowledge of retail best practices, merchandising standards, and basic sales techniques in an apparel or sporting goods setting.
- Ability to work on-site with flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Basic math and computer skills, with comfort using point-of-sale and inventory systems.
- Previous retail or team leadership experience is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is beneficial.
