About the PositionAssigned to the Oklahoma Forensic Center (OFC) in Vinita, as a member of the Security Department, the Forensic Officer I is responsible for maintaining a safe environment in a secure inpatient forensic facility. Duties include evaluating fire hazards, enforcing laws and regulations, and providing security against acts of terrorism. The officer patrols the premises, monitors security cameras, assists with movement of consumers, and responds to medical emergencies or other unit calls.
PositionResponsibilities
- Inspect buildings and grounds to eliminate fire hazards.
- Enforce laws, rules, and regulations within the facility.
- Patrol assigned premises to identify and correct safety hazards.
- Assist staff and consumers with movement within the facility to assure safety.
- Transport consumers to appointments off‑site when required.
- Monitor security cameras and perform unit walkthroughs.
- Respond to medical emergencies and other unit calls.
- Level I – No experience or education required.
- Must pass an OSBI background check.
- Willingness to undertake job‑related travel and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Conditional offer requires a physical examination, including capability to lift or carry 60 pounds and push or pull a maximum force of 30 pounds.

Applicants for safety‑sensitive positions must submit to a urinalysis for drug testing. Appointment to the position is contingent upon a negative result.
Work Hours and LocationOFC requires 24‑hour, 7‑day coverage. Primary working shifts are 6:30 am–3:00 pm, 3:00 pm–11:00 pm, and 11:00 pm–7:00 am. Employees may be required to work weekends and overtime depending on business necessity.
