Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Summary...

As a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician at our local retail store, you will support and oversee repair of Walmart facilities’ refrigeration HVAC equipment. You will use commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills along with hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs in a fast‑paced environment.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility’s refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills.
• Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
• Provide a prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following Walmart’s refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work safely at heights frequently.

• 2 years experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I/Type II EPA certification for refrigerant handling (or universal certification).
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years experience in mechanical maintenance or construction‑related fields for commercial HVAC/R.

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00–$45.00. Additional premiums may apply.
