Compensation$14.00–$19.50 per hour (contingent upon available funding).

Position OverviewWe are looking for a motivated, skilled Material Mover to join the Facilities Management Moves and Special Events department on the Oklahoma State University campus. The role provides labor to move materials as required by various university departments. Responsibilities include safely operating vans, trucks, utility vehicles, trailers and other equipment to collect and/or relocate campus materials; maintaining departmental equipment; reporting any damage, malfunction, or safety issues to the Assistant Supervisor;
and recording daily notes on work orders using an electronic hand device. The work also involves setting up and taking down staging and equipment for campus special events.
- Operate vans, trucks, utility vehicles, trailers, and other equipment.
- Maintain and report department equipment status.
- Record work orders electronically.
- Set up and take down staging and equipment for special events.
- Perform snow and ice removal tasks when scheduled.
- Lift up to 50 pounds frequently and sometimes more than 50 pounds.
- High School diploma or GED completed before the start date.
- Material Mover I:
One year of related experience. - Material Mover II:
Two years of related experience. - Material Mover Lead:
Three years of related experience, at least one year at OSU Facilities Management, demonstrated supervisory ability, and completion of the FM Leadership Program. - Valid driver’s license, maintained before and after hire.
- Forklift certification within 90 days of hire for the Lead level.
- Proficiency in the AiM CMMS software and mobile technology.
- Strong communication skills with a friendly, positive demeanor.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with departmental representatives.
- Adherence to all safety requirements and promotion of a safe work environment.
- Independent working ability and good decision‑making skills.
- Vocational or technical training.
- Post‑secondary education and 3–5 years of related experience (e.g., moving heavy materials, warehouse setting, event setup).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Forklift certification.

Additional InformationWork may include overtime after 4:00 pm and/or shift work when required. Responsibilities may require response at any time of day or night when scheduled by management, regardless of weather. The position is physically demanding, with regular exposure to disagreeable conditions, extreme temperature changes, odors and loud noises. Personal protective equipment (gloves, safety glasses, etc.) is provided.
