Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Summary

Walmart is expanding its workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician. As a member of the Refrigeration HVAC equipment team, you will support and oversee repair of Walmart store refrigeration HVAC equipment using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills along with hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.

We expect you to perform the following responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility's refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
• Provide a prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test equipment to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines by performing work according to Walmart refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.

• 2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) report.
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2+ years of mechanical maintenance or construction‑related field experience for commercial HVAC/R and building controls, or 4+ years of such experience.

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 – $45.00, plus potential bonuses and premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
