Technician, General Facilities Maintenance

Job Summary

Walmart is hiring General Maintenance Technicians who will diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance duties for all commercial equipment supporting Walmart stores. Responsibilities include developing preventative maintenance schedules, completing assigned PMs within specified timelines, and conducting training for Store Associates on equipment care and cleaning.

• Perform minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment.
• Complete routine maintenance to ensure safety and proper functionality.
• Manage work orders and maintenance schedules, providing required written and electronic documentation (e.g., expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, maintenance logs).

Minimum Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in maintenance.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license for at least 3 years with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
• Eligibility for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Vocational or technical certification and 3 years of experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related trade (or 5 years of experience).

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical trade program.
• License in a related trade in the city or state where the job is located.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
