Make an impact as an External Financial Advisory Manager with our Indigenous Services team. This diverse team of professionals works with more than 270 Indigenous peoples, groups and organizations across Canada and shares a passion for learning and understanding their history, culture, and contributions to our country. With 500 team members dedicated to this sector, no other firm has invested as much time and resources into serving the unique needs of Indigenous communities.
As a trusted advisor, you’ll provide expertise to empower Indigenous communities, organizations, businesses and individuals in navigating a dynamic social, political and economic environment.
Responsibilities
Work closely with Indigenous community and enterprise clients to assess their accounting systems and lead tailored capacity-building initiativesEvaluate overall client accounting practices and create a strategic plan for growth, capacity development, and financial literacyProvide strategic recommendations to client leadership and implement best practicesAdvise on complex matters such as external financing, system implementations, and chart of accounts setupDeliver hands-on training in accounting functions including assisting the client with audit preparationReview/prepare finance policies and process maps, prepare recommended amendments as requiredProvide training and oversight into general matters such as payroll, GST/PST, and T4 filingFacilitate quarterly financial reporting and project updates to Management and LeadershipMaintain flexibility to travel, as necessarySkills and Experience
A degree or diploma in Business Administration or AccountingCPA, CAFM, or equivalent designationMinimum 5 years of relevant experienceStrong knowledge of accounting principles and organizational financeExcellent communication and relationship-building skillsExperience working with Indigenous communities is a strong asset
