What We Are Looking For

We are looking to fill an open vacancy for a legal assistant to support a team of Corporate Commercial lawyers. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, be organized, and have strong attention to detail. Success in this role requires a drive to succeed, resourcefulness and diligence.

Responsibilities
  • Independently manage and organize the daily operation of a busy Corporate Commercial practice for three lawyers.
  • Handle all administrative details with respect to accounting, expenses, opening and closing files, docketing, billing, etc.
  • Assist with preparation, drafting, editing and finalizing all documents relating to corporate transactions.
  • Proofread and check all documents.

  • Be accountable for all work assigned.

Requirements
  • Minimum three years’ legal experience within Corporate law.
  • Successful completion of a related post‑secondary Legal Assistant and/or Law Clerk program.
  • Ability to handle time pressure and the stress of multiple demands.
Skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite of applications.
  • Strong technical skills with creating, numbering, styling, and rebuilding documents.
  • Knowledge of Workshare Compare or a similar document comparison program.
  • Familiarity with iManage or a document management system;
    Docu Sign would be an asset.
  • Strong proofreading, spelling and grammar skills.
  • Problem‑solving ability.
  • Good judgement and decision‑making.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Organized, resourceful, and detail‑oriented.
