Position: Mechanic for Underground Mining Equipment

Transform your mechanical talents as a Mechanic for Underground Mining Equipment at Voisey’s Bay, situated in East coast of Labrador. This position emphasizes equipment maintenance in challenging environments with a focus on safety and performance.

Working with Innu Inuit Redpath Limited Partnership, your schedule consists of 14 days on and 14 days off while ensuring the functionality of mining equipment including generators and drills. Your main duties will include adjusting components, conducting diagnostic tests, and training apprentices in a camp setting. Compliance with health and safety standards is vital during all operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct diagnostic tests for mining machinery

• Repair and replace defective parts of equipment

• Ensure performance meets manufacturer specifications

• Monitor for unsafe working conditions during shifts

• Support the training of new mechanics and apprentices

Requirements:

• Journeyperson qualification as Heavy Duty Mechanic

• At least 2 years' experience in underground mines

• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems

• Proficiency with diagnostic software tools

• Basic literacy and strong problem-solving skills
