Visit Henry County, GA (VHCG) is the official destination marketing organization responsible for the promotion of tourism throughout the areas of Stockbridge, Locust Grove, Hampton, and unincorporated McDonough.
BackgroundVisit Henry County, GA runs mobile visitors center, a Ram Pro Master cargo van. The mobile visitors center is used to welcome Henry County visitors with area information to encourage more exploration and longer stays.
Position OverviewThe position is ideal for candidates seeking a part-time position. The ideal candidate will be comfortable driving a large cargo van on both local roads and interstates, setting up displays to attract visitors, having conversations with many visitors and partners throughout the day, and staying up to date on all tourism-related happenings throughout the county. The position is limited to a maximum of 20 hours per week and requires availability during evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities- Perform event setup, swag distribution, and crowd interaction while representing Henry County and its tourism partners
- Manage visitor flow, answer tourism-related questions, and distribute promotional materials
- Follow all safety and labor compliance guidelines, including scheduled breaks
- Track daily in-person interaction numbers, giveaways and specific request types (i.e. restaurants, shopping, etc.)
- Utilize resources to seek information for answers not immediately known
- Update manager on any growing visitor concerns or trends throughout the community
- Maintain open communication with the Visit Henry team and report any on-site issues promptly
- Outgoing and engaging individuals who thrive in community settings
- Must be comfortable speaking to groups in casual outdoor environments (e.g., events, parks, concerts, fairs, car shows, etc.)
- Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of brand representation
- Must be self-motivated and willing to work independently, including setup and breakdown of tent, displays and/or van
- Willingness to learn Henry County’s history, growing/changing attractions, and tourism industry
- Comfortable working outdoors and assisting with physical event setup
- Flexibility and adaptability are key to supporting the success of each activation
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, with a driving record in good standing (95% of travel will be in-county with occasional out-of-county trips required)
- Manage volunteers with a diversity of personalities and experiences
- Comfortable working flexible hours, including weekends and occasional evenings
- Reliable Transportation to attend events and onsite appearances
- Work outdoors throughout all seasons of the year
- Ability to stand for extended periods during events
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
$20.00 per hour up to 20 hours per week, not to exceed 40 hours per pay period
