• Adults to Geriatrics

• Overflow IMCU
• 32 beds
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5–6
• Scrub Color:
  Navy Blue

• Arrhythmia management
• Cardioversion
• Cardiac CHF
• Chest pain management
• Post Cardiac Cath care
• TR Bands
• Care of patients post-PCI (Required)
• Hemodynamic monitoring (Required)
• Basic arrhythmia knowledge
• Cardiac drip knowledge (Required)

Cardiac Drips Must Include Experience With:

• Amiodarone
• Cardizem
• Dobutamine
• Dopamine
• Nitroglycerin
• Milrinone
• Heparin
• Argatroban
• Aggrastat
• Bumex
• Lasix

• Renal patients
• Pulmonary (COPD, pulmonary edema)
• PE, DVT
• Stable A-Fib, SVT, Bradycardia
• Surgical cases (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, biliary drains)
• DKA
• EVERYTHING under the Med/Surg umbrella

• Vascular patients
• Ortho overflow
• CVA overflow (transferred as soon as possible to appropriate unit)

• Epic (Preferred)
• Pyxis
• SBAR communication

• Weekends: Every other weekend (unless otherwise specified)
• Floating: Required within facility/scope of practice as needed
• Call: Rare; 2-hour response time
  • Travelers typically do not manage Precedex (core staff assignment)

• Maximum 7 days

If holidays fall within the assignment period:

• If 1 major holiday falls → traveler expected to work it
• If 2 major holidays fall → traveler expected to work both
• If 3 major holidays fall → traveler expected to work 2 of the 3

Major Holidays Include:

• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving / Black Friday
• Christmas Eve / Christmas Day
• New Year’s Eve / New Year’s Day

• Locals accepted – same rate
