The Registered Nurse performs a wide variety of duty during a shift, caring for and educating patients about their medical and psychiatric conditions. Establishing trust and building rapport with patients and their families are key elements of this position.
Job Duties- Complete appropriate documents within the required timeframe after admission and maintain medical records.
- Administer medications as indicated and monitor the detoxification process.
- Transcribe physician orders and implement all medical protocols as ordered.
- Confer with and assist medical personnel, both internal and external resources.
- Provide documentation that reflects services for each patient in accordance with licensure standards.
- Assess medical and psychiatric needs of the patient, determine urgency, and expedite treatment as required.
- Effectively communicate patient health concerns to appropriate personnel and follow up as necessary.
- Educate patients about medications, health issues, and medical conditions.
- Take verbal orders from the medical provider, document them in the patient record, and carry them out accurately and professionally.
- Provide routine nursing care under the supervision of the Director of Nursing.
- Minimum Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
- Licensed to practice in the State of Georgia required.
- Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Check.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Minimum two years' experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.
- Behavioral health experience preferred.
