Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU travel assignment in Georgia, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and active GA or compact RN licensure.

• Active GA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred

• Hospital ICU setting with 24 beds and an average daily census of 19 patients
• Adult to geriatric patient population with diagnoses including ARDS, sepsis, stroke, STEMI, DKA, post‑op complications, cardiogenic shock, GIB, COPD exacerbation, encephalopathy, liver failure, drug overdose, and ESRD on CRRT
• Nurse‑to‑patient ratio of 1:2–3; travelers should be prepared for the possibility of a 3‑patient assignment
• Day shift, 3x12‑hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• EMR:
  Epic (experience required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR documentation
• 14‑week contract
• First‑time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• Navy blue scrubs required
• RTO maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• Holiday coverage is required: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• No alternate shift requests or special scheduling requests are permitted
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least one full calendar year before returning as a traveler
• Full compliance is required prior to the start date; non‑compliance may result in a two‑week pushback due to a bi‑weekly orientation schedule
