Overview

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, using nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. He/she functions within the framework of the organization’s policies and procedures and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse maintains standards of practice and coordinates patient care activities of assigned staff to ensure quality nursing care.

• Minimum education:
  
  Graduate of a nursing program.
• Minimum experience:
  
  New graduates of a nursing program eligible.
• Minimum licensure/certification:
  Current license in Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License; BLS certification required.
• Additional qualifications:
  
  Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable;
  Bachelor's degree preferred;
  Nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred.
