American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience, with day shift availability and every-other-weekend commitment.
Requirements- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, TNCC
- Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required
- Required skills:
respiratory care, care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and triage - Preferred skills: procedural sedation administration and monitoring
- Copies of all applicable certifications required for consideration
- Two supervisory references (manager level or above) strongly preferred; charge nurse references are not accepted
- Emergency Department (ED) setting in a hospital environment
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (11:00–23:00)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating within the facility and within scope of practice as needed
- Local candidates are accepted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- All RTO must be finalized prior to offer; no RTO or schedule changes are permitted after offer or once onsite
- Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of assignment
- Holiday coverage is required: if 1–2 major holidays fall during the assignment, travelers are expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall during the assignment, travelers are expected to work 2 of them
- Major holidays include:
Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as
1), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as
1), and New Year s Eve/New Year s Day (counts as
1) - Candidates who have previously worked at any Piedmont facility as permanent staff, per diem, or FCSS must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for at least 1 full year before being eligible
- Travelers who were cancelled or placed on a do-not-return list at a Piedmont facility must complete one successful assignment outside of the Piedmont health system before reapplying
- No alternate shift requests or schedule modifications are permitted; the posted shift is firm
- Travel pairs (two travelers placed together) will not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
- All compliance documents must be submitted by the Tuesday prior to the start date; failure to complete onboarding on time may result in a two-week start delay due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
- Core onboarding items and labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
