Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown

Stockbridge, GA

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00) | Onsite

• Provide direct patient care on a Cardiac Stepdown / Overflow IMCU unit serving an adult to geriatric population across a 32-bed unit with a 1:5–6 patient ratio
• Manage and monitor continuous IV cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, and Nitroglycerin, as well as diuretic and anticoagulant infusions
• Perform arrhythmia management and cardioversion support for patients presenting with stable A-Fib, SVT, bradycardia, and other cardiac arrhythmias
• Care for patients with diagnoses including CHF, chest pain, renal conditions, pulmonary conditions (COPD, pulmonary edema, PE, DVT), DKA, and post-cardiac catheterization including TR Band management
• Support surgical patients (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, biliary drains) and occasional vascular, orthopedic, or CVA overflow patients pending transfer to appropriate units
• Float within the facility within scope of practice as needed; respond to rare call requirements with a 2-hour response time

• Active RN licensure in Georgia or a Compact state required at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse experience; first-time travelers are not accepted
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Demonstrated experience managing continuous IV cardiac drips and anticoagulant infusions
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Basic arrhythmia knowledge and familiarity with Med/Surg scope of practice

• Proficiency with Epic EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Familiarity with SBAR communication framework
• Experience with TR Band management and post-cardiac catheterization care
