Role Overview We are looking for an experienced and reliable Part-Time Decorator to complete high-quality painting and decorating works across residential apartment blocks and communal areas.
This role offers steady, regular work on a 3-day schedule while maintaining professional standards.
A full UK driving licence is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities Painting & Decorating
Carry out internal and external painting using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment where needed.
Prepare all surfaces correctly, including sanding, filling, patch plastering, sealing, and priming.
Apply clean, professional finishes to walls, ceilings, woodwork, metalwork, and communal areas.
Ensure all work areas are protected, kept tidy, and left clean on completion.
Perform small repairs such as filling, patch plastering, caulking, and sealant replacement.
Replace damaged trims, skirting, and similar items as part of prep work.
Report any issues requiring further maintenance to the team.
Planned & Reactive Decorating
Complete scheduled redecoration tasks across managed blocks.
Attend reactive jobs such as leak-damage repairs, stain blocking, and scuffed-area refreshes.
Work efficiently to maximise productivity within a 3-day working pattern.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Use PPE and follow COSHH safety requirements for all paints, fillers, and chemicals.
Work safely and responsibly in occupied residential buildings.
Maintain safe working areas, ensure correct protection is used, and comply with company procedures.
Customer Service & Communication
Communicate professionally with residents, property managers, and colleagues.
Provide clear updates on job progress, timescales, and any follow-on works required.
Maintain a tidy appearance and uphold company standards at all times.
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience as a Painter/Decorator.
Strong skills in preparation, painting, finishing, and minor repair work.
Good understanding of paint types, finishes, and correct application techniques.
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively within a part-time schedule.
Full UK driving licence (required). Desirable Qualifications
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Painting & Decorating (or equivalent).
CSCS card or similar safety training.
Experience working in communal residential environments.
