San Joaquin County is recruiting for a Capital Projects Administrator. This is a key leadership position which is responsible for directing and managing activities and resources of the Capital Projects Division of the County Administrator's Office. This includes responsibility for financial planning, coordination, project management, monitoring construction management, and forecasting County, space, and facility needs.
This class is exempt from the San Joaquin County Civil Service system and is an 'at-will' position.

Capital Projects - Department Summary
The County Administrator's Office is seeking an experienced leader to oversee the division's administration and operation. The Capital Projects Administrator is responsible for directing, organizing, and staffing all County capital projects, including planning, development, construction, and project delivery. The incumbent will oversee a staff of 15 full-time positions and will report directly to the County Administrator's Office. The incumbent will have broad administrative responsibility for short- and long-range strategic planning, policy and procedure development and implementation, and budgetary control.
The Capital Projects Administrator will play a critical leadership role in the department and will have a strong foundation and understanding of capital project administration. The ideal candidate must be a collaborative and creative problem solver with a high level of ethics and integrity. This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well with the Board of Supervisors, Commissions, County leadership, and outside organizations.
The Capital Projects Office is located within San Joaquin County’s beautiful 180 acre park situated in a beautiful oak-forest setting featuring nature trails, Oak Grove Lake, and a nature center.
