Pre-Employment Background, DOJ Live Scanand Drug Screen :
Potential newhires into this classification are required to successfully pass a DOJ Live Scan, a pre-employment background investigation and a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment. Final appointment cannot be made unlessthe eligible has successfully completed the DOJ Live Scan, background process andpassed the drug screen. The County pays for the initial drug screen.
Principles, practices, and materials used in landscape architecture, park construction, and engineering, including Computer Aided Design software, as applied to the preparation of designs, plans, specifications and cost estimates for landscape, buildings, recreation equipment and site development; characteristics and requirements of various plant life suitable for park and recreation areas in central California; the development and operation of water-oriented parks and recreation facilities;
principles of land use planning; research principles and methodology; principles and practices of project management; land use regulations; grant application procedures and environmental impact reports; control of funds in capital projects.
Organize and coordinate the planning, design and construction activities of park development projects; analyze proposed development projects and develop work schedules; prepare sketches, plans and specifications for parks and recreation areas by both manual methods and using Computer Aided Design software; plan and evaluate proper landscape architectural treatment of park playground and recreational sites; understand and interpret complex land use regulations;
express oneself clearly and concisely, orally and in writing; prepare reports and recommendations; establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, private consultants, contractors, public officials and the general public.
Mobility-Frequent operation of keyboards, sitting for extended periods, driving, standing for long periods, walking, bending/squatting, occasional climbing ladders, stairs;
Lifting-Frequently lift 5 to 30 pounds;
Vision-Good overall vision; frequent reading/close-up work, depth and color perception, and eye/hand coordination;
Dexterity-Occasional holding, reaching, grasping, writing;
Hearing/Talking-Frequent hearing and talking on the telephone or radio and in person;
Emotional/Psychological-Frequent decision making, concentration, and working alone; frequent public contact; occasional exposure to emergency situations and hazardous materials;
Environmental Conditions-Frequent exposure to noise, dirt, dust and varied weather conditions (outdoor); occasional exposure to indoor cold/heat;
