Under the general supervision of the Division Dean, to teach organized classes in accordance with course descriptions, outlines, and class schedules; to evaluate progress of students; to advise students concerning educational matters, to perform other instructionally related duties as assigned. The primary responsibility is to teach up to 10 units (Part-time) in the discipline of Economics.
Duties and responsibilities may include, but not limited to the following:
Minimum qualifications:
- Ability to prepare and present information and material in a classroom instructional situation.
- Be sensitive to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Knowledge of:
- Teaching-learning processes with special knowledge about individualizing the instruction program.
- Education:
Meet District minimum qualifications in the assigned discipline. Master's in economics OR Bachelor's in economics AND Master's in business, business administration, business management, business education, finance or political science OR the equivalent.
Desirable qualifications:
- Demonstrated teaching experience.
- Availability to teach in-person classes during the day (7:30-4:30).
- Desire and ability to teach college courses to high school students.
